Bell peppers are the commonly used vegetable around the globe. They are also known as Capsaicin. Due to huge health benefit and multiple colors available they are widely used in the variety of condiments. Peppers are considering native to the Mexico. Unlike the chilly that are used in condiments, which are, hot Bell Peppers are Mild in nature.

Presently, China is the number one producer of the Bell peppers.

Climatic requirement

The climate requirement of the growth of bell peppers is the temperate types. It prefers salubrious climate and avoids massive hot, cold temperature and waterlogged soil.


Some people found the taste of the seed to be better. But the ripe pepper with red color is sweet in taste.

Price and color

The price and color of the Bell Peppers vary with harvest time. The green pepper is less expensive than red. As the green pepper is the unripe pepper and harvest early. Due to less time required to harvest they are cheaper and often widely use. Green pepper is less in nutrition than the red pepper.

The red pepper is the ripen pepper which is lush with nutrition. It is due to this reason red pepper is expensive than other pepper as it requires prolong storage time.

The orange and the yellow pepper are intermediate between the green and the yellow pepper.  The nutrition level and the price are intermediate between the green and the red.


The nutritional value of the pepper varies with from unripe to ripe Peppers.  Pepper is the source of the fat-soluble vitamin like Vitamin A, E and K. Bell pepper is the rich source of Vitamin C, contain more than four percent of carbohydrate, less than one percent of the fat and protein respectively. Has the vitamin B complex vitamins.

The minerals present in the Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorous, Potassium and Zinc.

Capsaicin is reached in antioxidant and helps in the combat of the aging effects in the body. The antioxidant prevents the damage to the cell by free radical that the are the byproduct of metabolic activities in the body.

The capsaicin is the natural painkiller.

Consumption of the pepper is associated with thinning of the blood leading to the reduce in suffering from stocks.

Chemicals in the capsicums can reduce the occurrence of cancers in the different part of the body.

Side effects:

Burning sensation, abdominal cramping, in severe case trouble in breathing and swallowing.
